Leak sealing and integrity reinstatement by pipe wrapping
The
Miles Offshore epoxy resin pipe wrapping system was first used by the
United States Navy in 1967 to fulfil damage control requirements and
is registered as a product qualified under US military specification.
Applications
First
used by the oil and gas industry to repair pipe-work transporting
hydrocarbons, the pipe wrapping system has subsequently been used to repair various systems including
firewater, delivery and high-pressure seawater injection lines, etc.
Material Performance
- Pipe Wrapping System - two part fast setting epoxy laminating resin system
- Specifically
designed for high strength fibreglass bandaging repairs
- Temporary
or permanent solution where pipes, tanks, valves, and other equipment
subject to corrosion or erosion
- Excellent
resistance to salt water, crude & refined oil, gasoline, caustics
and most acids
- +70
kg/cm2
(1,000 psi) hydrostatic pressure after one hour's curing
- Operating
temperatures up to 220°C (428°F)
Benefits
- High-integrity
fast-track repair solution
- May
be used to defer costly unscheduled shutdowns by enhancing the
integrity of the existing pipe.
- No
requirement for costly pre-engineering and fabrication.
- Short
lead-time.
- Minimum
on-site support required during installation.
- Will
confirm to almost any pipe work geometry.
- Repair
is not susceptible to corrosion since it is non-metallic.
- Flexibility
permits repair geometry and extent to be adapted on-site.
The
success of the system is founded upon high quality tried and tested
materials combined with their application by our skilled and
experienced technicians. |
